Blizzard... and NOT the Ice Cream...

Welp,  I am going thru my first Blizzard up here.  So far, so good.  Being snowed in with a house full of people has been a pleasant surprise.  I was preparing myself for blinding headache.  Yes, there was screaming and loud talking, banging and crashing but what do you expect from 6 BORED kids...?  We made it thru waffles, ham, greenbeans and salad, Sing Off, Scrabble, Craft time, Silly Putty time, play time, quiet time, internet time, no naps... coffee and soda...

Kids are now asking if they will have school tomorrow... Not sure as it is still snowing and wind blowing like crazy... There were white-outs on the roads just a bit ago (so I've heard) and others have said the roads are very slick... Since the wind is blowing so much, the town called off the snow plows... Maybe they WON'T have school... we'll see tomorrow... (Jesus, please give me the strength to go thru another day of kids in the house... Amen)...

Mullets Amuck...

What is it with this hairstyle?  I have seen more and more of these mullets up here than I EVER did in Warrenton!  Wonder if they followed me... Awww crap... they followed me up here, didn't they!

I have to say though, the ones I've seen have been perfectly coiffed... sides feathered neatly, top spiked with gel and the back hanging in all its glory...  Good job, boys... Good job.

Capturing Memories (FINALLY)...

Got some early Christmas presents today.  I am STILL in shock... awe... amazement...

I now have a netbook and a digital camera.  A camera I can take with me to Claire's school functions and actually capture the moment... I've never been able to do that.  I've always had to rely on my sister for her camera... or my cell phone... but now, now I can take pictures till I run out of memory!!  Got a lot of time to make up... I smell a... a..... SCRAPBOOK!!!

To my HERO... Thank you... Thank You from the bottom of my heart.  What an awesome present and SUCH A SURPRISE!

Blessing Fairy Strikes Again and Big Girls & Goodwill...

So, I've been showered with blessings these past few weeks.  I am very very very thankful for all of them...!  Thankful for the people behind them and the Lord who made it possible.  It has been a tough time juggling the little $money$ I DO have between bills, necessities and gas... Then throwing Christmas for my baby girl.... OYE VEY!  So, to my Blessing Fairies... THANK YOU and also a BIG "shout-out" to Jesus, My Homeboy!!
Since being up here, I've had to purchase an entire winter wardrobe for Claire.  Can I just say... I LOVE GOODWILL!!  The one up here carries some really good stuff!  I've been able to buy Claire Limited Too, Justice, Gap, Anne Taylor, Talbots, Polo, Ralph Lauren, some Pierre guy who makes a MEAN sweater, Simply Vera, etc...  and I've NEVER paid over $3.00 for an item!  Most times I pay $1.50 each...!  Saved me TONS!

And speaking of TONS...

Unfortunately, the Goodwill up here doesn't have clothes for Big Girls...  It's because Big Girls hang onto their clothes FOR LIFE.  We find a shirt that fits us "right now" and we wear it till we grow out of it... then it goes in the closet till we can fit into it again (yeah right...).  But we will NOT get rid of it! A few reasons why we won't part with the clothes... goes something like this:  " I looked GOOD in that shirt!  I ain't givin it up to some other fat girl who will just stretch it out!"  Or... "Oooo, I was wearin THAT outfit when that one guy actually talked to me.  If I give it to Goodwill, some other heifer will pick it up, wear it out and take my man from me! I ain't takin a chance at losing the man of my dreams.  This thing has GOT to go back in the closet... Some skank tryin to steal what's mine... I saw him first.  She better recognize what she dealin with..."

Whatever Big Girl... Whatever...
Just let the shirt go...

Cart Handles...

Forgot to mention the awesome "prize" someone left under the handle of the cart @ Wal-Mart today...  Good thing is, whatever it was had already dried up so it was a mound of crust when I got to it... I swear, some people are more putrid than the lowest, most disgusting thing on the planet.. I cannot even begin to think of what is more disgusting than those who pick their noses and wipe it on a public shopping cart... It makes me wish there was a law that says it's OK to plant your fist in their faces... or maybe shoot them with a tranquilizer gun and watch them seize on the floor as you step  over them...

Afterschool...

Remember coming home from school, dropping your backpack right in front of the door so everyone else behind you has to trip over it, kicking off your shoes in the middle of the floor so everyone else behind you has to trip over them and going straight to the fridge or cabinet for food before everyone else can even SMELL what's in there?!  Yeah, those were the days... not having to worry about a thing in the world but yourself, homework and friends... but mostly yourself...

Well, MY kid is gonna get a job next year, no matter WHAT!  Don't care if she's only gonna be 9.  She needs a job.  She needs to be responsible and support herself.  Get her homework done and go straight to work until bedtime.  Then get up, go to school, come home and do homework and go right back to work for the evening...  Make some money for momma... That's how it's gonna be... a working 9 year old.  So what if her mother is unemployed.  It's ok for her to pay the bills and support me, right?!  And if she leaves her shoes on the floor, I will throw them away.  She has a job now.  She can buy herself another pair.  That backpack? GONE... She leaves it on the floor it's trash, right?! Go buy another one! (he he he)

The bathroom... again...

So, as I was disinfecting the bathroom yesterday, I noticed a little yellow spot in the corner by the shower... I bent down and could immediately tell it was dog urine from that frigging "rat mutt" they have.  That stupid animal pees in every single room if you don't keep the door shut.  He was able to hike his leg up in the corner and pee on the shower curtain... I got to take the curtain down and clean up the dried up puddle... I took the curtain down to the 13 year old (owner of the dog) and told her to wash it because her dog peed on it.. .and I was willing to bet it wasn't the first time he has done it too!  (For the record:  I like animals, I just don't like living with them.)

Moving on...

Right now...

Well, right now I am feeling a little gross... I want to wash my hair but I have to clean the bathroom first.  I am sharing a bathroom with a 13 year old girl (NOT my daughter) and there is NO fun in cleaning up hairballs that are NOT your own...And to top it off, she was sick last night into the morning so I got to disinfect it too!!  Had to go buy bleach wipes and Lysol to finish the job... there was NONE here...

I've noticed that as I get older, I tend to get more grossed out by things... like hair balls, an unflushed toilet, dirt on the floor, toothpaste in the sink, public bathrooms, cart handles, door knobs, public bathrooms, "spit marks" on the mirror...  Things like that make me sick... Not much I can do about it though as #1:  when ya gotta go, ya gotta go (remember to hover!!) and #2:  it's the only place I have to live right now...

When I have my own house again, I'm going to have my own bathroom... one where I am the ONLY user... NOBODY ELSE!  Don't care how bad they have to go... they can find a tree or a bush outside cause I'm not sharing...

This blog stuff could be interesting... I still hate the fact I have to be somewhat filtered on here though... I should creat a blog for my "worldly friends" and one for the rest of em...  I am not "me" unless I can say what is on my mind... unfiltered...

Crap... Maybe this is too much for the first official post... I will go ahead and post this first and see what happens...

C'mon people... this is my way if venting... I'm gonna need some follwers and supporters...  Ya with me??!??!
